Warta Kema – After two decades, people are not expecting that the 2006 movie “The Devil Wears Prada” is coming back with a sequel. Recently, on November 12, 2025, the 20th Century Studios has just released the first trailer of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” on YouTube and the official poster of the movie on their social media accounts, such as Instagram (@20thcenturystudios). The trailer video was only 50 seconds long and it opened with their iconic soundtrack “Vogue” by Madonna.
In the video, the classic fashion atmosphere was brought to the screen, showing Meryl Streep’s return as Miranda Priestly walking down the runway in sunglasses and red studded heels. Every step of hers felt like a declaration that her position as the fashion devil was still unchallenged. This moment served as an opening that immediately triggered nostalgia while emphasising Miranda’s character strength. Then, the scene shifts to Miranda entering the lift. When the doors were about to close, Andy Sachs suddenly joined in. Miranda’s ex-personal assistant, played by Anne Hathaway, now looks more glamorous and confident.
“Took you long enough,” Miranda growls as Andy smirks and slips on black sunglasses. Anne Hathaway’s return as Andy Sachs plays at the end of the trailer.
Besides Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, the other two original cast members, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, will also return to play their characters in the movie as Emily Charlton and Nigel. Some new cast members are joining the movie, such as Simone Ashley, Rachel Bloom, Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, and special cameos from Lady Gaga and Sydney Sweeney.
According to IMDb, the sequel will highlight Miranda’s struggle in the face of the decline of print media and the brutal competition of the modern fashion industry. Miranda soon finds herself being faced against Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), her former junior assistant, who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs. With Andy’s presence, a more mature signal that their relationship will be tested again, but in the context of the fashion world, which has also changed significantly since the first film.

According to The Guardian, Emily Blunt stated in September, “When we made the first movie, none of us expected the meteoric life that it would have and the impact it would have on people,”. She added that it also “has deep emotional roots” for her and Tucci, who later became her brother-in-law.
In an interview last September on The New Yorker Radio Hour podcast, Wintour recalled the moment she attended the premiere of her first film. “I came wearing Prada, and had absolutely no idea what the film was about,” Wintour said with a laugh. “Meryl Streep was incredible, and the film was very funny,” she added.
This teaser marks the return of one of the most iconic fashion films to the centre of popular culture. The combination of powerful acting, nostalgia, and a fresh take on the story has many fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Runway universe. Many longtime viewers wonder how the sequel will reimagine the high fashion and fierce ambition from the first movie two decades later. So many high expectations fans are putting in here. The film is scheduled for global release on 1 May 2026 and is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year. For nearly two decades, Miranda’s quote, “That’s all”, has remained alive on the internet. Now she is back to ensure the world still knows who is in charge.
