Warta Kema–Your favorite boyband is back! After 3 years since their last album, 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) finally released a brand new album on November 14th. The lead guitarist, Michael Clifford, had teased the fans about the comeback after his solo album debut, SIDEQUEST. Many fans speculated that the band decided to come back with a new album after Clifford and their bass player, Calum Hood, debuted as solo artists earlier this year.

The new era started a while back on September 23rd, when 5SOS teased their comeback with several no-context photos on X. Those photos brought up the excitement from the fans, who later on were speculating about this new era. 5SOS finally released the first single of the new album, ‘NOT OK’, on September 24th and announced the new album, EVERYONE’S A STAR, out on November 14th.

The album’s release is followed by appearances on talk shows, interviews, and special shows in some big cities of the world, including New York City, Los Angeles, and London. Their latest show was a surprise takeover at the famous Times Square of New York City on November 19th. These special and surprise shows subtly pique the interest of many more in finding out more about the band.

This new era of 5SOS could be their biggest era with the new contract with Republic Records, which has made the band get to promote EVERYONE’S A STAR better. The promotions they have been doing since September 23rd are finally doing numbers on the ARIA charts, an Australian music chart. EVERYONE’S A STAR has debuted at No.1 on the ARIA charts, dethroning Taylor Swift’s The Life of A Showgirl after 3 weeks of sitting at the top of the chart. The place at the peak of the charts is the best result from the great promotions. From the fresh concept of the era, the interviews around the world, and the surprise shows, no wonder 5SOS could dethrone Taylor Swift’s latest album on the ARIA charts.

Following the release of the album, the Australian band announced a world tour coming next year. The dates and places where the tour will be taking place were already announced on one of their music videos, the ‘Boyband’ music video. After 3 years of vacuuming on tour as a whole band, 5 Seconds of Summer will return with a new concept for tour in 2026, opening in Belfast, United Kingdom on March 26th. In the meantime, the band played as a surprise guest at the Jonas Brothers’ tour in New Jersey and New York.
